I had the weekend planned.
On Monday I ordered the complete Babylon 5 box set. I followed with eager
eyes the postoffice.co.uk <http://postoffice.co.uk> website to track it.
Ohhh now it's in England, Holland and yesterday Denmark. I bought some nice
red wine. I bought my favorite crisps. I drove home today and thar she
blows. A package for me from play.com <http://play.com> on my porch.
I took it inside, gently. I caressed it open so as not to scratch the
contents.
What was inside?
The Complete Dawson's Creek.
OMFG

As for the rest of us we need another person, perferably 2. We're slumming
it now clearing out the lower level quests, fine. I have one left and then
I'm done in the Harbour area.
I'll see who can be rustled up as well.... anyone on the dspsrv? Ask there
perhaps?
Rafe is always a possibility, but tbh I don't know about his current
commitments.
We need to move to the market and start some increased difficulty quests.
New and fun adventures!!
Agreed... but we need to stop playing WoW first ( i.e. start playing like a
DnD party and not a group of WoW players) as you have also said later.
ZOMG teh epixx!1!! Pew pew pew! Nref teh shamen!
There, out of my system.
Conor is gone next week, are there suggestions? CLW potions at 58 gp a pop
are getting ridiculous if you use 5-10 a quest (and I popped over 20 last
Tuesday). Can we get Diarm started? A Paladin maybe?
When do paladins start getting decent healing? I think we really need a big
ass Fighter with huuuge intimidate and bluff (so that the rogue can use lots
of backstabbing and trips) and a kick ass healer... can we get both in one
package? I'm not sure what DnD3.5 pallys are like.... I played one briefly
in Beta but at level 1 he had no healing so I couldn't assess the healing
side.
Paladins start getting healing at level 4, the same level as rangers. :)
The pally in DDO is a bit of a mutant (most of the classes are) as you
probably know they've given him a +2 Armour Class bonus aura presumably
because they don't get a mount (surprisingly WoW-like IMHO) but TBH I'd
rather see a fighter than a pally join because fighters are decent blokes
and pallies are all, like, oooh, I'm, like, lawful good and a paladin and
you all, like, have to do what I say... and they, like, totally reek of
horses even though there aren't any in the game[1].
Diarm is gonna try it out, I'll try and help him along as far as the
Waterworks at least this weekend. I'll let him know we kinda need a WOD
member (I won't tell him that he will be the WOD :) ).
[1] Opinion (C) Stereotypes'R'Us 2006
I do feel as we advance slowly that we're going to need more people, we've
been getting by with 4 for now but as I said above we are slumming it on
lower level quests. What about Ade and Paula? They not interested? Who else
from the old crew might be able to commit to one night a week? We need them
soon as we're all level 3 now and the further we advance the more catching
up they have to do.
Other than that I think we need to slow down as well. We got fireballed by
that muppet recently as we charged up the hill because
1) We didn't scout - I need more time and a tad more patience to fulfill
that role
Ok, I'm still going to mosey along behind you when you're stealthed as I'm
pretty much as sneaky as you are (well, apart from the size bonus you get
for being halflinged).
2) We didn't see his CR - that would have been a good indication fireball
was a possibility - we need to use the utility spells a little more, I mean
when was the last DND game you went into battle unbuffed?
I realise waiting for my report back can be a tad tedious but it will save
lives later and now the death penalty is getting larger each time. We need
to use tactics more, protect the mage, he goes down the firepower dies with
him, wait to fire those first arrows until we find out how many muppets are
around the corner, and I don't know what to say to Conor as the Cleric class
is far different from what I'm used to - pure healer or part tank? We need
both until we get a full tank.
Yes agree totally... Actually the bad guy was my fault... I'm usually the
one urging caution and scouting and I let a rush of blood to my head get to
me and charged up that sewer without thinking.
Bloody wimmin.
If we think "we should never ever die! I think it will have two positive
effects.
1. It will increase the immersion and tension of all dungeons.
2. It will increase the challenge for us and motivate us more.
I'm all for both Joe,
We need to carry masterwork healer kits, and of course spell components :p
Maybe we can talk some of these things over before we run off to do a quest
next week, if we are on.
When's Conor off galivanting? Could we somehow fit in a brief session this
weekend somewhere? I'd love to do a "tactics" session.. no goal (in terms of
dungeon) but choose some low level plebs to take on with a view to sorting
out our group combat dynamics.
If so, we could walk Diarms char through a few dungeons, maybe even the
waterworks, I can blow the dust off my level 2 cleric and get him through
the rest of the harbour if needs be (it'd be best, I reckon if we didn't
take the quest, or if we enter and exit the quest a few times to knock down
our XP for it, I don't really want to rush through the game and somehow I've
got a chunk more XP than you guys).
Leigh
at work but not really here :-)
Me too! :)
Joe
And me, Fridling today. :)
