Sounds good to me, made lvl 2 last night, a whole 44 hp's now, maybe
I'll stay standing a bit longer now... 8-)
We all on for this evening? Is Diarm on this list?
19:00 BST ok with People? Or if you're earlier I probably won't be on
until 19:30 ish..
Could try waterworks or just some of the more fun lower level quests on
hard to get D up to speed.

I'm not really sure yet either :) I have a lvl 1.4 tank and the
cleric is defo not a tank in that calibre - but at the same time by our
party standard I am the one wrapped in the most pig iron ... where it
gets risky is when I can't get spells off, no probs healing if I'm far
back or maybe facing one-two enemies, but more that than and the healing
won't happen.
So basically decent AC, very little DEX (ie none), massive WIS
(20), firmly believes that you guys should be carrying 10 healing pots
each minimum going into a dungeon - I do!
I deal out feic all damage. Have just got some reasonable aoe
spells - but of my lvl 2 offensive spells I can't really afford to take
that many (maybe one) of them.
7BST would be better for me tonight, but maybe leave it at 6 with
the assumption that I might be late - I still have a crapload of work to
do before flying tomorrow, and am excpecting company a few times today.
I may even have to drop out for 30mins or so tonight during the game -
hopefully not.

Hi Guys,
Dalt, grand, no worries. I have to admit I wouldn't go back to
WoW either just for the opportunity of talking with my buddies.
We'll remove you from the DDO list then so you're not inundated
with junk.
As for the rest of us we need another person, perferably 2.
We're slumming it now clearing out the lower level quests, fine. I have
one left and then I'm done in the Harbour area.
We need to move to the market and start some increased
difficulty quests. New and fun adventures!!
Conor is gone next week, are there suggestions? CLW potions at
58 gp a pop are getting ridiculous if you use 5-10 a quest (and I popped
over 20 last Tuesday). Can we get Diarm started? A Paladin maybe?
I do feel as we advance slowly that we're going to need more
people, we've been getting by with 4 for now but as I said above we are
slumming it on lower level quests. What about Ade and Paula? They not
interested? Who else from the old crew might be able to commit to one
night a week? We need them soon as we're all level 3 now and the further
we advance the more catching up they have to do.
Other than that I think we need to slow down as well. We got
fireballed by that muppet recently as we charged up the hill because
1) We didn't scout - I need more time and a tad more patience
to fulfill that role
2) We didn't see his CR - that would have been a good
indication fireball was a possibility - we need to use the utility
spells a little more, I mean when was the last DND game you went into
battle unbuffed?
I realise waiting for my report back can be a tad tedious but
it will save lives later and now the death penalty is getting larger
each time. We need to use tactics more, protect the mage, he goes down
the firepower dies with him, wait to fire those first arrows until we
find out how many muppets are around the corner, and I don't know what
to say to Conor as the Cleric class is far different from what I'm used
to - pure healer or part tank? We need both until we get a full tank.
We need to carry masterwork healer kits, and of course spell
components :p
Maybe we can talk some of these things over before we run off
to do a quest next week, if we are on.

See you say that but then you say...

almost every way.
The major difference, and this is fundamentally the reason
you love it and I loath it, is that WoW is "mechanistic" game playing.
This suits your personality to a tee... you love to work out the
mathematics and figure out exactly how many points of damage you will do
per hit... we know this of you of old (it's the same reason you were the
always best at Empire :>). In this way, fundamentally, WoW "fits" you as
a player perfectly.
DDO is different... I'm not going to say it's better or
worse, (although so far I've enjoyed just about every game from about 10
games (4 hour evenings) of DDO a thousand times more than a *year* of
WoW) - in that it is designed around the idea of gaming as a social
pursuit (without a need to be a mechanist unless you want to) as is DnD
itself. For that reason above all it suits me as a game.
The equation for me (i.e. as suits me) boils down to this:
Wow = great UI (as provided by the community), nice
cartoony graphics, lousy repetitive boring game in exactly the same mold
as all other mechanistic MMO's I've played(EQ, EQ2, DAoC, EO etc).
DDO = lousy UI (as provided by the devs with no opportunity
for community improvement), pretty semi-realistic graphics (which I
always put at 1/2 way between the twee of WoW and the real of EQ2) with
fun quests and above all a focus on social gaming atmosphere which I've
never seen in any other MMO.
I chose the latter cos it suits my personality :)
