now that the patch is on :) we're probably all itching to play again :)
I know I am .....
knock, knock - can we get this spell bought for Wynn (now thats its a
buyable scroll). Suggest splitting the costs as this is a party / utility
spell if ever there was one! If its not that expensive then maybe not
bother? I just think we all need to get into the idea that sooooooooon some
of Wynn's spell components will get SILLY expensive (see stoneskin) and we
should all be ready to chip in. Mine don't so I'm happy to just keep buying
them myself.
Running costs???? I have to admit - mine are fairly low. Cheap spell
components and I don't get hit "that" much, so repairs are also cheap enough
for me. Is there anyone being particularly stung? By what?
Healing pots. Nobody should be going into an instance of duration "long" or
"very long" without at least 10 (yes I said 10) pots of cure serious wounds.
Especially the melee combatants. All the hold / stun / trip effects have
been souped in recent patches and I'm very aware that some of ye are brutal
about healing yourselves - tbh sometimes I question if you even know you're
even taking damage. As a rule of thumb, if you hit 50% health and I'm not on
the ball with healing then a few things could be happening:
- You are out of sight ..... Odile in particular makes it difficult on the
Cleric, Annabelle/Carbury are probably a close second. Wynn and Alannon
rarely present a problem to me; usually because as fellow "stand back" folks
they are normally near me anyway. I'm not having a go - I just think the
melee combatants need to be more aware of their surroundings regarding
receiving heals. Split level areas probably give the most hassle for me to
get line of sight. If I don't get a heal on you because you are out of LOS
then not only are you not getting healed but you are also slowing down the
healing chain ie the next person getting healed.
- I am incapacitated ..... our voice comms get very busy in really big
scraps, I'm not sure ye realise when healing isn't coming?
- There are several of you going down at once .... my spells all have a
cooldown (not sure ye know this?), the bigger the healing spell the longer
the cooldown. This means in a big scrap the second / third heals get
progressivly slower or weaker .....
- Nobody ever protects the healer in this game ...... I mostly don't need
it, but our party always seems to be running around like headless chickens
without a strategy in mind. I general I think Wynn and I as casters need to
be protected. Wynn takes big damage quickly as clothy, its not so bad for
me. But even If I'm not taking big damage I could still be taking spell
interruption - which (because its healing) means one of you is going down!
Healing wands. Keep em coming! At the moment I am burning at least one fully
charged CLW wand per long instance and half CMW wand per instance. I don't
mind buying CLW wands cos they're cheap - but they are also now completely
useless as in combat wands. CMW are just about effective in a scrap.
Divine Vitality - at the moment this is the mana battery for Wynn (mostly).
I think soon I will be dropping it in favour of "Divine Healing: Activate
this ability to give another character healing that persists over several
seconds.Consumes a use of turn undead for the day." Still thinking about
this one TBH .... the mana battery is very handy too!!! But if the party
doesn't get better at quaffing pots I'm gonna have to go this route to
spread the load for big scraps.
DOG (type) animals - I have crap reflex saves ..... if there are dogs around
- get them off me. They are currently the biggest problem I have when it
comes to spellcasting. They seem to contantly "trip" me up!
