Hi guys, bad news for me I'm afraid. It's my father in laws 65th birthday this Tuesday, I have Midwife and acupuntur on Wednesday and Thursday I pack as I am in Florida from Friday the 9th until Saturday the 18th. So I pretty much will miss the next 2 sessions.

I started a new char after I thought more about her background
Annabelle Swiftfinger, still the same build, different stats and feats. 2 handed weapon fighting, Jesus I was getting -10, -6 to hit before! Now It's down to -2, -2 or there abouts. Skills still on traps and snekaing, she's done the daggers and has 2 Goodblades to do this evening maybe. If anyone else has a starting char it'd be easier to hook up!

2 sessions shouldn't be too much if you don't all run way ahead. I can PuG to catch up and will be ready to rock asap. :-)

yup - but you also have to keep in mind that we are overkill for some of these quests at the moment, ie I've soloed the quests that we were doing 4 man. When we start hitting "real" 4 man quests I expect things to change

I'm looking forward to the next night, although I am considering re-doing my character already. I was loath to cripple my stats too much and had an idea I might multiclass.
I may have time tonight to check her stats/feats/skills and see if its the way I want to go. Yeah, not knowing the min stat requirements for feats can be crippling. I sent a .jpg to the ddo address that was bounced for ziae with a complete chart of the feats, I'll upload it to my site tonight or you can see it on www.ddo-europe.com <http://www.ddo-europe.com/> (think it was class forum)
I think I ended on about lvl 1 rank 3, So if I do a new char I won't go past L1R4. Should only take a few hours.
I am still wary of you guys doing new content, the problem I found with (the admittedly few) PuGs is
			1) No voice com
			2) WoW like play, run from quest to quest, complete mosh fest
			3) No tactics, too much individual play
			4) Every man for himself, you die? too bad
			5) Rushrushrush to get levelled up.
If you thought what we did the other night was hectic try a PuG!
I hope if you guys are going to play a lot more that this won't stop the enjoyment.
My order was shipped yesterday, woohoo!

Yeah, it's the standard problem of wanting to get to new content. I was
conscious of it as well... we rushed quite a bit and played a bit like
				WoW (or any other MMO).

That's ok for the early dungeons and where we're just getting set up.
However very soon (i.e. when we start doing lvl2-3 dungeons) you really
can't approach it like that. You have to start thinking DnD and planning
				ahead.

There are basically only about 3 more quests that I have done in Beta
and Leigh and I had just achieved level 2... so once we all hit that (I
reckon about an hour's more solid play) it'll be new for everyone... and
there is a *lot* to learn.

The big difference between this and WoW Dalt is that you don't have to
hack-n-slash every dungeon to get XP. If you use your noggin and
"defeat" the creatures another way (sneaking past... distracting them,
drawing them into their own traps etc) you get the same XP for it.

This means that for any character you're not so locked into one role...
you have a number of options (for example, you could be a total
damage-hoe fighter and not bother with tanking type skills at all
knowing that your party are only going to be in 1 in 10 fights.. and
that when they are, it's on their terms and generally short and brutal)

Also, many of the dungeons/puzzles don't have anything more than a token
enemy force... there are (apparently.. haven't played them) several
dungeons that are almost totally "puzzle".

That's part of the appeal to me. WoW when I went back and tried it after
my first taste of DDO just paled so much because it's this big (pretty)
empty shell. 0 athmosphere, 0 immersion, 0 depth. Maybe it's just me...
I dunno, but DDO feels much more "immersive" and I genuinely want to do
the quests not just as XP but as stories to play through.
