[ddo] this week

Easier said that done :)
the problem with Intimidate and Diplomacy is simple - usually when I need to
use them I am also frantically trying to heal you guys. If its a difference
between a heal and losing aggro I prefer to get the heal off as "odds are"
my AC will probably carry me through ......

My biggest issue is that I have more to worry about than the rest of ye -
and you really need to start doing the simple things that will make life
easier.

Diarm and Mike are pretty much the worst offenders regarding calling for
healing, as the high hit points in the party (?) and in Diarm's case also
the highest AC, you guys should (in theory) have loads of time to call for a
heal. I watched last night when I was being kranky and most of the time you
called for it when you were on about 10-20%, and you didn't always gets
there quickly. Joe and Leigh actually readjusted well to my asking people to
shout for healing - the problem there though is as Leigh says, two good hits
in succession will pretty much wipe you out. When you are incapacitated
versus just dead you need to call that too - funiest moment for me of the
night ..... "I'm on minus nine :)". How long did it take you to get there :)

I know the priest as he gains levels and ranks can take feats/action points
etc that make him more "open" to healing ie when healing is cast on me it
becomes more potent - do you guys have the same options? Are you taking
them?

The other thing wrecking my head is people charging off when they are on
half health ...... especially when I have mana - thats just plain dumb.
There were a few times last night when I went to heal ye up and I got "X is
no longer in line of sight".

The combats last night were all in all, unfocussed. It really hurts to die
now. As for pots, I start with 15 CLW every evening but I say we need to up
that to 30 each. I don't think we should start pooling cash. Personally I
feel the cost difference between CLW and CMW is ridiculous and cannot be
justified. What I mean is I use only CLW for now as I can tumble, quaff,
tumble, quaff, which is the same as quaff 1 CMW at way less price.
I am still figuring out the role of the rogue in combat. My armour is
terrible and if I'm in melee range 2 hits kills me, as you all saw last
night. Backstab is now 1d6 + 3 d6 with 18-20 being a crit (rapier). I get
the same bonuses with my throwing daggers 1d4 + 3 d6 if I'm within 30 yards.
I may try that for a while.
Conor, it's hard to judge when to call, I found last night. Being hit twice
for 20 points in a row reduces me to 9 hp in no time, screaming at you then,
and getting a potentially bad roll on the CLW won't stop the death if
another comes your way. The mobs hit hard now and being pecked away at from
49 to 33 then boom to 10 can't be prevented.
Suggestions: Keep the tank up, let us on pots unless D is doing fine, then
throw emergency heals our way? All non combat healing is to be by pot/wand
ONLY, we need your mana for when we can't quaff quick enough. As for you
being whopped, I can only suggest more communication before fight,
Intimidate and Diplomacy are like aggro management and fade in WoW a bit.
If you can't see who's where use the V key in battle to see who is in LOS. I
use both defensive stance and uncanny dodge.
I loved the Irestone Inlet with all that sneaking, how fun was that?!! All
in all a good night.
Bren's bard is what level? Have you all alts to get him up to speed? Will
you just swap over to mains when he hits 4?

Sorry for being grumpy with the healing tonight lads - but its a boring and
painful job and I find it really annoying if someone goes down, whether it
was them being a newb or me.
Tonight thankfully it was ye being the newbs :)

Healing 101 - If I am being milled into I will not know to heal you unless I
hear your name. Generally as the person who is keeping everyone up ye should
be trying to get stuff of me - 'cos even if they are not doing major damage
the spell interuptions could kill us.

Hearing it when you are nearly dead is too late. Both heals (CLW & CMW) have
a cooldown and chances are I have just healed someone else a second a go -
if you leave it till the last second. When you hit 50% you should be
shouting.

LINE OF SIGHT - if you are out of it then you will not be healed. If you go
out of it have a pot at the ready. I probably won't even realise you are not
getting healed till too late, cos basically if there are 2-3 of ye in need
of healing (and thats generally the way it is) I have time to select one,
cast heal, select the next one, cast heal etc etc I barely have time to see
if a heal actually went off.

Cash for healing stuff. I know its party needed stuff etc etc, but at this
stage we are all saving up for stuff from the brokers. I propose we keep it
equal until otherwise is needed.
Tonight I said 30 and someone gave me 50 and I ended up spending somewhere
between 80-100 plat of my own - don't really care but between the dying
loads and the cost of healing for everyone else I gained no xp and was down
about 50 plat from a nights hard work :) so like I said I think from now on
the start of the night the person with the best haggle skill gets 50 plat
per player and goes and buys all the required healing stuff, once we have
the party healing bought we can decide the best way to split it up ie I will
end up getting wand cos its a 100% chance of success, but I only need 1 pot.
Diarm and Mike probably need the most pots.

Is anyone using block or defensive fighting style??? I'm only asking cos
when I am on full mana ye seem to act bonkers and suck up my mana - when I'm
low ye all seem to become better players and my last 30 SP seem to go a lot
further than the 250SP before them??

Can someone with their number text Conor and el chupacabra (Joev) for
availability? (There's absolutely no rush, I just wanted to refer to Joev as
el chupacabra, it seemed appropriate. :) )
