[ddo] Virtual Tabletop

Hi all,

it sounds like a good idea, however you might need a PHB and the DM will
need a DMG (not all the information was released in the SRD, try looking up
mind flayer or beholder in the monsters for example). Combat and
skill/save/whatever checks in D&D 3.5 are a whole lot simpler in terms of
resolution than previous versions but there are a lot of options open to you
(disarm, trip sunder, coup de grace etc). Combat is also fought on a squared
board which takes a lot of the guesswork and petty arguments about who can
move where and hit whom out of it.

There are a number of virtual tabletops already in existence, Dragon is full
of ads for them every issue, I'll try to get a list of them so we can check
them out. The best of these might even take a lot of the drudgery of *snort*
"roll" playing out of the "role" playing *chortle*. Gosh, what a clever play
on words. ;)
