Check out the hat, baby! From the wicked witch in the opera house, I love
Karazhan, great fun.

Anyway, my char (in LOTRO) is an Armsman: Woodcrafter, Weaponsmith and
Prospector. JoeyJoeJoe Jr. Shabadoo is an armourer. And he likes touching
male hobbits.

It think the reason why armourers and tailors haven't "gotten their act
together" is quite simple; opportunity cost of raw materials. You get more
tradeskill xp from making components than you do from assembling anything,
especially higher level recipes. Making finished armours tends to cost the
crafter cash and XP and I don't know how much they'd actually sell for in
the AH.

For example, Heavy Padded Boots, a level 7 item need:

    3x Leather Pads = 6x Boiled Light Leather = 12x Light Hides
    2x Leather Bindings = 4x Boiled Light Leather = 8x Light Hides
4x Boiled Light Leather = 8x Light hides

For assembling these bits you'd get 8 xp (you'd get 12 xp if you just made
the 4x Boiled Light Leather into leather pads or bindings) and an item worth
96c to a vendor, selling the components would be worth a few silver.
