| Report | Another year, another season of
triumph and heartbreak! The Spartak boys are back in their boots and raring to go.
To the pub, after the match, unfortunately.
Last season was one of many
lows and highs (ok, not so lows), from a start that would have embarrassed
Sunderland to some great performances againt First Division sides, the season as a
whole can be viewed as a bedding in time for Spartak where they learned to find
their feet and gel as a squad. Which is as charitable as I can be.
In the
closed season Spartak has been a hive of activity. Sensational rumours about Thai
Body Oil Barons wanting to invest in the club has led to a rash of signings. Sorry,
wrong punctuation. I'll try that again.
Sensational rumours about Thai
Body Oil Barons wanting to invest in the club has led to a rash. Of signings, there
are few to be seen as the wages this year consist of half an orange and a free
ticket to see a Roxette Tribute band in Hull for Christmas. Still though, there are
a few new faces which will hopefully help drive the team on towards success. Or just
drive the team to the pitch really.
This season though, there can be no
excuses, the team has had so much time to gel now it is practically concrete and
nothing less than a top 3 finish will appease their enthusiastic supporters. Ok ,
supporter. Ok, themselves. Can they do it? Only time will tell, but one thing is for
sure when they take to the pitch this weekend against Quayside Albion they will be
well up for it. Honest. |
