Cup Hopes Keep Season Alive Second Division Cup

Fixture Genetics vs Spartak Sanger
Report Another week, another cup. Thank Christ! After a water deluged bruising trouncing at the weekend Spartak will retreat to the comfort zone of a cup competition this week to lick their wounds and hopefully make it 100% progression in all cups so far this season.

Their inexplicable inability to close out games they have dominated in the league doesn't seem to have translated to their cup runs where they have strolled up to now. If a trophy is to grace the Spartak Cabinet this year, then it seems that a cup is the most likely route (because a trophy in the league is about as likely as George Bush spelling 'chrysanthemum' or 'dog'). Who knows they may even win three cups and the Cabinet may have to be enlarged to include something other than a wooden spoon rack.

The competition this week are Genetics who have come on a lot this season and are no longer the whipping boys of the division so Spartak will have to play up to standard (hopefully not their own standard, but one of some better team) to hopefully progress. And who knows, by the weekend most of the kit may even have dried out!
