Catching Up
1st of October
Session:
40 min easy pyramid set, whit no big efforts, just spinning out the legs.
2/10/08
Session:
Swim set drills, drills and then some some drills. 45 Min set
3/10/08
Back in Ireland for Dads' retirement party. There were a few drinks had the night before (and much late night chat) so I did a run down to the beach to see if the effort and the sea air would clear the head. Quite successful.
4/10/08
Session;
MarcO and I do a 1:20 run at a steady 5:40 km(ish) pace, mixed on and off road route. The weather is awful but the run is great. I show Marc a new route which was one of our old mountain bike tracks back in the day.
5/10/08
Session;
Bike ride with Da. We bought Dad a new Trek 1.2 road bike on his retirement, so on Sundy morning (when Marc had quite finished faffing) we went for a nice easy 13 mile bike. It was good to all get out on the road together.
Then I caught a cold!
Or more accurately, the cold which I had been holding off finally got the upper hand.
8/10/08
Session;
40 min turbo. Bit of a mistake this as I was still not fully well, the cold made a nice comeback.
12/10/08
Brick set. Good session this one. 1 hour off road bike on the single speed followed by 30 min run with ascending pace with the return split run at 5min km pace.
13/10/08
Core session, had to skip some of it as I was late for an early meeting! (oops)
14/10/08
Turbo Cadence set. This was a hard set. I bought a new gizmo, a cadence meter for the Forerunner. This set just showed me that I hadn't been working it hard enough on the turbo. Set aim was to spend a fixed time at high cadence and vary reistance. Boy did I sweat!

15/10/08
Turbo-Brick
Session; 20min high Cadence Turbo followed by 10min of fast running. Another one of these sets where you can surprise yourself at just how much you can do with half an hour.
16/10/08
Back in the pool, just so as I dont forget what to do!
17/10/08
Full Core session
19/10/08
Run around Graffan Water with my mate Bren, who was at that point in his last week before his first marathon (which he then went on to do in 3:45 the git)
Tummy Bug!!
Since then I have been suffering with a bit of a bug. Its sorted now but it knocked me off training for a bit. This coupled with busy busy week at work has derailed training. But I think I am ready to get back on the horse (or the bike or whatever.
