Peaking with Race Pace Running

The object here was to run a half marathon at race pace (or better really) with a negative split. This was good fast running with a steady push to beat the split on the return leg.

The aim of this run was to do 2x15min fast running with a warm up, cool down and mid split rest.

Another 3 hour odd run

This was another 30km odd run at a steady pace. This was much less effort and generally more comfortable than the last big miler. The big break was due to my trip to Cuba at the end of September. This also marks my first run on my NEW SHOES! and also using my new Forerunner 301, which was a replacement for the one what I lost/got pinched in Cuba. There was a short run which I missed of the log as well, due to my lack of watch!

The new shoes are Hurricanes again, but they were the last of the old model in stock. The new model felt significantly different and I will have to hunt around for a replacement model when these are broken in. I hate it when a fave shoe gets dropped or re-modeled beyond recognition.
